MO' BETTA back fo' mo' at the Linsmore Tavern!!!

If you want good music, Friday night is the place to be at the Linsmore Tavern! MO' BETTA is back by popular demand and it will definitely be a killer show! An all-star line-up of experienced local musicians with a sound that has a New Orleans influenced rhythm & blues/rock leaning heavy on the funk 'n' soul side of things.

This 5-piece band plays covers of classic songs by Jimi Hendrix, Dr. John, Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, Joe Cocker, and so many more!!

On lead vocals is Darren "Mista D" Dumas. Darren is the lead vocalist for Toronto ska/punk rockers, The Salads, as well as the Bob Marley & The Wailers cover band, Mob Barley & The Railers. Over the 12+ years with The Salads, Darren has played a plethora of shows with artists like Fishbone, Simple Plan, Public Enemy, Presidents of the United States of America, Gob, Choclair, Alexisonfire, Goldfinger, Slightly Stoopid, The English Beat, Max Webster, among many others.

On guitar is Steve D'Angelo. Steve is an acclaimed composer, arranger, and guitarist. He has worked with artists like Dr. John, Taj Mahal, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Susan Aglugark, Liberty Silver, and so many more.

On bass is Steve Lucas. Steve is an international recording and touring bassist/composer/producer who has performed, toured or recorded with arts such as the Grammy Award winning Levon Helm Band, several albums with Bruce Cockburn, Garth Hudson ("The Band"), Big Sugar, among many others.

On keys is Rob Gusevs. Rob has had the opportunity to play and record with a number of artists over the years, some of who include Martha Reeves, Bruce Cockburn, Lisa dal Bello, The Arrows, Manteca, Banda Brava, Domenic Troiano, Long John Baldry, Tom Scott, and David Clayton Thomas.

On drums is Lorenzo Castelli. Lorenzo is a Toronto based multi-instrumentalist and composer. Lorenzo studied performance, composition and arranging and graduated with honours from the Music Program at Mohawk College in Hamilton. He went on to receive a scholarship to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where he earned an honorary, Bachelor's Degree in Film Scoring. He has performed with Canadian Indigenous Music artist George Leach, Iranian soprano singer Darya Dadvar, and many of Toronto's top Jazz musicians such as Kelly Jefferson, Adrean Farrugia and Geoff Young. 

The show starts at 10pm, $5 at the door!
