Second Wave, Tribute to New Wave Returns to the Linsmore Tavern!!

Back by popular demand, Second Wave is coming to the Linsmore Tavern on Saturday, April 16!  Second Wave played the Linsmore earlier in January and it was one of the best nights in the history of the Linsmore Tavern! Immediately after that night, we received so many requests to bring them back, that we booked them right away for another show! The band that packed the house and had you dancing into the wee hours will be doing it again, performing all the memorable Classic New Wave Rock hits from the era, including music by the Cars, Pretenders, Squeeze, Elvis Costello, Blondie, Crowded House, The Ramones, and MANY MORE.

t's the mid-1970s and punk has turned the corporate rock world upside down. Rebellious, loud, obnoxious...it is a formidable antidote to the stale, predictable world of record label stable bands and their limousines, accountants, and cliched entitlements. Out of this upstart atmosphere of non-conformity came bands that simply couldn't or wouldn't fit into any genre or category. A New Wave of music combined the energy of punk with an accessible brand of lyrics and melody that gave the awkward, the shy, the rebels, and the dreamers an outlet for expression.
Now comes a Second Wave: a five-piece band that recreates the energy and passion of New Wave music with select songs by artists like The Police, The Pretenders, Blondie, Joe Jackson, Elvis Costello and the Attractions, XTC, Squeeze, The Knack, and others. When they hit the stage it's a non-stop pogo party of hopping and bopping to an energetic revival of guitar-based classic New Wave rock. Get out the skinny ties and shades -- it's time for the Second Wave.

Members: Murray James-Bosch (vocals) Mike Gresko (bass, vocals) Gerry Fielding (drums, vocals) Andy Kim (guitar) Rob Yale (keyboards)

It’s a party that you don’t want to miss! Show starts at 9:30 pm. $5 at the door.
