Shawn Brady & The Northern Sons Live at the Linsmore Tavern!!

Saturday May 30th, we have a real special show at the Linsmore Tavern as we are welcoming Shawn Brady & The Northern Sons for a night of upbeat Rock!  Shawn Brady is one of the most well-respected and talented musicians in Canada and definitely knows how to put on a show!

Described as “U2 with a shot of adrenaline”, Brady and the members of his band, "The Northern Sons" have performed in over 14 countries around the world. Brady and his band deliver high energy rock shows with songs that are filled with soaring melodies, heavy guitars and pounding drums. If you enjoy U2, The Killers, Muse, Snow Patrol and Foo Fighters, you are bound to enjoy the music of Shawn Brady.

With an impressive gift for crafting songs that are melodically infectious, Shawn Brady’s musicality is matched only by his insightfully deep, heart-felt and intelligent lyrical virtuosity. Brady made inroads as a recording artist with his debut album ‘Electric Blood’ (2011). Produced by Juno-nominee Cory Tetford, the album received rave reviews and airplay across Canada and the United States. His latest album, ‘Broken Traffic Lights’ (2014), is a remarkable evolution and treats the listener to song textures that embrace the dramatic potency of Muse and and The Killers, while mixing elements of 1980s darlings Ultravox, Depeche Mode, The Cure and U2.

Brady thrives in the live environment and for more than a decade he has played the part of “Bono” in the world’s most successful U2 tribute show. He has performed over a thousand shows around the world (15 countries to be exact) in front of audiences sometimes in excess of 10,000 people. All of this not only taught him some valuable lessons of stagecraft and professionalism but also in connecting with audiences on an emotional level.

The show starts at 9:30pm and there is a $5 cover charge!  You don't want to miss this night, as Shawn is a true talent and has a spectacular live show!

Greg Godovitz: Solo music, stories and comedy of the man who created GODDO!

Mark Friday May 29th down on your calendars, because you absolutely don't want to miss out on this unique experience!  Remember MTV Unplugged or VHI Storytellers?  Well, on Friday May 29th, the Linsmore Tavern is hosting an evening with the Legendary Greg Godovitz who will be playing the music and telling stories of his amazing career, which has spanned more than 50 years!  This will be a Greg Godovitz Storytellers, which all Goddo fans absolutely have to see in such an intimate setting!

Greg Godovitz was born March 20, 1951 in Toronto, Ontario. Greg began playing music as bassist/vocalist in 1964 with a British Invasion group called The Pretty Ones with future Fludd band-mates Edmund and Brian Pilling. Subsequent bands included The Pyggs (blues), The Mushroom Castle (psychedelic) and Sherman and Peabody (blues rock). Next up Greg rejoined the Pilling brothers in Fludd where they recorded a number of top ten AM radio hits including Cousin Mary and Turned 21. In 1975 Greg formed Goddo who recorded eleven (11) albums of eclectic hard edged rock and roll. Recording eleven albums during their career would produce many classic rock staples including Pretty Bad Boy, Under My Hat, Sweet Thing, So Walk On and O Carole (Kiss My Whip). The group would tour Canada and the United States relentlessly, carving a path of rock and roll mayhem wherever they travelled.  The stories from his days on the road would later fuel Greg's autobiography, Travels With My Amp.

If you are a fan of Canadian Rock music in particular Goddo, this is going to be an experience that is an absolute MUST! Hearing the songs and the stories behind them from the man behind Goddo is going to be spectacular, especially in such an intimate setting!  Tickets for this show are $10 in advance and $15 at the door!  You can buy your tickets at the Linsmore Tavern or right here: BUY TICKETS!!
