The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience is Back at the Linsmore Tavern!

Saturday August 12th, all you Stevie Ray Vaughan fans and blues fans this is the night for you, as the Linsmore Tavern welcomes back for a quick turnaround show, The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience - Canada's Premier Tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble! These guys were at the Linsmore earlier this year and absolutely killed it! A Sold-Out show with an overwhelming response to bring the Dave Ryan Trio back again, we couldn't wait any longer to do so! This is going to be a real special night, as The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience is one of the most authentic and respected Tributes in Canada and their last show at the Linsmore was a barn burner! There will be a really fun set of classic rock that this band will perform as well that will definitely Rock the House!

In 1983, the monumental impact of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s debut album launched a thousand musicians and fans into guitar shops and 500,000 people into record stores to buy their copy of Texas Flood. After recording 5 more studio albums and 6 live compilations, Stevie went on to win 6 Grammy awards after being nominated 12 times and selling out countless shows the world over. Though he died more than two decades ago, the guitar legend and his influence can be seen and heard everywhere as it continues to grow.

Few of Stevie’s acolytes likely have the same dedication as Dave Ryan, who has spent the last decade getting the details just right as the front man of the Toronto-based band, The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience. In addition to Dave’s attention to Stevie’s guitar work, vocal stylings, and guitar tone, there are many other visual elements of the show including look-alike hats from Stevie’s favourite, Texas Hatters, replica guitars/amps, and yes, the man even has the same blue peacock tattooed on center of the his chest!

With thousands of hours of rehearsal under his belt, Dave has assembled the perfect players to form Canada’s premier heartfelt tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble.

The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience has been playing all over the Greater Toronto Area. After receiving rave reviews, accompanied by many encore bookings on the club circuit, the band is climbing its way up to larger venues and festivals throughout Southern Ontario.

The band is currently focusing on greater exposure through festivals and casinos throughout North America but they still frequent local hot spots throughout the Toronto area. Recent successful festival performances include The Country & Blues Festival in Burlington and the annual South Side Shuffle Blues & Jazz Festival in Port Credit.

The music is high energy and very danceable. All of SRV’s major hits have been carefully selected to keep everyone’s attention from start to finish. Toes will be tapping and feet will be dancing!

A full night of entertainment from The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience includes:

Pride & Joy / Cold Shot / Voo Doo Chile / Little Wing / Crossfire / Tightrope / Couldn’t Stand The Weather / House Is Rocking / Empty Arms and many more including Stevie’s rendition of Stevie Wonder’s Superstition, rockin’ Buddy Guy tunes, and Jimi Hendrix monster hits such as Manic Depression and Purple Haze. Finally, a few gems from ZZ Top whom also had an impact on Stevie’s career.

Q107’s John Garbutt sums up The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience as accurately as the show captures SRV’s essence… “Musically and visually the real deal…a must see performance!”

Tickets for this show are now on sale and are only $5 in advance, $10 at the door! You can purchase the tickets at the bar or right here: BUY TICKETS!!

The Jay Danley Band Live at the Linsmore Tavern!

Thursday August 10th, the Linsmore Tavern is really excited to welcome The Jay Danley Band! This is going to be a really fun and unique night of music, as The Jay Danely Band will incorporate many different worldly genres including Ethiojazz, Afrobeats, Latin, and Worldbeat Jazz! The music for this night is going to be off the charts with very high end instrumentals and horns! This is one Thursday night of music that you don't want to miss! Featuring the very talented Jay Danley, who has ensemble some of Canada's best musicians to put together this band, the Linsmore Tavern is in for a real treat this Thursday night! The show starts at 8pm, No Cover!

In 1995, Jay was a founding member of Orchesta Klave Y Kongo, a group that specialized in
performing the traditional form of Cuban music known as Son Montuno. The band became renowned
for their dedication to authenticity, with Jay taking a front and center role playing the “tres”, a type of
guitar from Cuba very different from his usual instrument. It was Jay’s abilities on this instrument that
led him to play with such musical greats as Jane Bunnett, including a 2001 performance on CBC
television for the Gemini Awards show, performing with her at the Ottawa Tulip festival and at Hugh’s
Room in Toronto.
Jay has also recorded two records with piano maestro Hilario Duran, one of which was nominated for a
2003 Juno award, and has performed with him on several occasions as a regular member of his group
“Havana Remembered”.
Latin music has been a very big part of Jay’s life. In 2005 he shared the stage with salsa legend Oscar
D’Leon at Massey Hall, and has performed with members of the legendary Buena Vista Social Club,
including the late Compay Segundo and Jay’s musical idol, Eliades Ochoa. One of Jay’s personal hilights
was when Eliades passed him his guitar to play on stage in 1998.
He has also played with members of Cuban bands Sierra Maestra, Los Van Van, and The Afro-Cuban
All-Stars. In 1999, Jay was an original member of the band Son Ache, who performed at the 2002
Beaches Jazz Festival. Son Ache had the honor of opening for Oscar D’Leon, where Oscar asked Jay to
come on stage and play a song, and after which repeatedly called him back on.
In 2004 Jay was a founding member of the traditional jazz group The Hogtown Syncopators. With
some of the best local jazz musicians in their lineup, including Drew Jureka (violin), Richard
Whiteman (piano), and Terra Hazelton (vocals), this group has recorded an album and holds a weekly
residency at The Rex hotel in Toronto.
In 2009 Jay appeared on the Juno winning (blues album of the year) “Ramblin' Son” with Julian Fauth.

Jay now leads his own band "The Jay Danley Ethiojazz Project", that plays Jay's original compositions in the style of Ethiojazz.
Jay continues to play in several distinguished jazz and latin bands and currently resides in Toronto.
