Sunday February 12th, the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) welcomes back one of our very favourite bands to our Molson Canadian Blues Sunday Series, The Legendary Castaways! That's right, every second Sunday of the month, The Legendary Castaways will bring their 1960's and 70's American Blues and Rock to the Linsmore Tavern for Molson Canadian Blues Sunday Series! The Legendary Castaways have played at the Linsmore Tavern a number of times over the years and are definitely one of the real fan favourites because of their amazing live show! They are able to captivate the audience with their amazing musicianship and great set-list! We are so happy to have them perform their blues music every second Sunday of the month, as they are going to make this monthly show really fun! The Legendary Castaways perform blues and rock hits (and not so hits) from the 60s and 70s. Some of their favourite artists include Johnny Winter, ZZ Top, Cream, Little Feat, Bill Withers, The Allman Brothers, The Band, and many more! The Legendary Castaways are: Joel Krass (vocals, guitar) - Joel is a former RCA Recording Artist (Headstrong/bomb32) and full-time music seeker. When he's not trolling the clubs to hear great local players, Joel plays a Gibson Les Paul Standard and uses Traynor and Roland amplifiers. Ben Wilson (vocals, bass) - Ben is a former Warner Music (The Populars) recording artist with local roots in the rock, blues and country scene in Toronto. When he's not holding it down with the Castaways, you can find him on tour with Canadian country workhorse, Mike Plume. Ben plays Ernie Ball and Fender guitars and Ampeg amplifiers. Paul Domanski (drums) - Paul is a lifetime veteran of the Toronto indie music scene (The Darned, Zuul's Evil Disco) with skills that span many genres (jazz, punk, rock, blues). Paul plays intoxicating champagne sparkle Gretch drums and uses Zildjan and Sabian cymbals. The show starts at 7pm and there is a no cover! We have cheap pints of Molson Canadian all day, so come and check out this great band, as they always deliver! The band features: Chris Caddell: guitar/vocals Jimmy Reid: guitar/ vocals Derrick Brady: Bass/vocals Wade O Brown: keyboards/vocals Cassius Pereira: Drums Chris Caddell: guitar/vocals - Canadian Musician living in Toronto. That's why the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave), is going to keep the party going and will be bringing 1 of Canada's very best Celtic bands, Old Man Flanagan's Ghost on Saturday March 18th for St Patrick's Day Hangover! Come out and dance with this incredible band who will be playing all of your Irish favourites! The fun all goes down at 9pm and will go late into the evening! Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door!
Old Man Flanagan's Ghost have been bringing 'Music with a Celtic heart' to audiences for years. Inspired by bands such as Great Big Sea, The Pogues, The Dubliners, Flogging Molly, and more, they are an energetic folk band exciting to both watch and listen to. Launched in Jan 2012, they have impressed audiences everywhere, playing notable Toronto venues including Hugh's Room, The Hard Rock cafe, The Sound Academy, The Opera House, The Tranzac Club and The Horseshoe Tavern.  They have played soft-seat venues such as at The Gravenhurst Opera House and headlined Festivals such as the Trenton Scottish Irish Festival (2019) and the Cobourg Highland Games (2015/2017/2021/2022).  They performed for multiple years in the Toronto Beach Celtic Festival, played at Nathan Philips Square as part of the 2016 Canada Transplant Games, Canada's Wonderland (2021), and at The Harbourfront Centre as part of their Dancing on the Pier series in 2016 and 2017. They have performed for several events for the St. Andrew's Society's and The Saint Patrick's Parade Society, and at Wineries, Yacht Clubs, weddings, and private events. They have played community events such as The Toronto International Buskerfest (2022), The Brampton East Coast Kitchen Party (2022), several Rib-fests, the Rosedale Mayfair, and multiple street festivals including The Westdale ARTSFest, The Feast of Saint Lawrence, and multiple years at the Pickering Village JAM Festival and the International Beaches Jazz Festival.  They helped celebrate Canada150 on stage at SesquiFest in London, Ontario in 2017 and played at the Canadian National Exhibition in 2019. Internationally, they were first aired in Limerick, Ireland on the Eclectic Celt radio station, and enjoyed an in-person radio interview at Frederiksberg Lokal TV in Copenhagen, Denmark.  They have participated in International Virtual Festivals during the CoVid pandemic including the Samhain New Years Celtic Festival (2020 - U.S.A) and The Barbados Celtic Festival (2021).
Their original music is their true passion. Their debut album "Sociable!" released in May 2015, and hit #4 nationally on community/college radio stations, including #1 positions on weekly Top 30 and folk charts.  Their sophomore album "Far From Shore" released July 2018 and received play on CBC stations around Canada, and again appeared on several college/community Top 30 and folk charts. During the Covid Pandemic, they released a collection of covers recorded during a live-stream event on their third album affectionately titled "LIVE". (Albums are available for purchase through bandcamp, at live shows, and at most digital retailers). They feature a dynamic fiddle performance with Bexy Ashworth and Liam McGlashon, the talented multi-instrumentalist/luthier Matti Palonen on tin whistle and double-bass (Matti also plays harp, kantele, mandolin, bandura, cello and jouhikko), Scot Allan on bodhrán (Scot also plays drums and other percussion), and Stephen Lamb on guitar and lead vocals. Best described as ‘engaging Celtic folk/rock’, they combine the sound of traditional folk instruments with a passionate intensity during fiddle tunes and sing-a-long pub rousers, and when the mood shifts to folk-style story-telling songs, the haunting melodies and warm vocals created by these musicians would ‘bring a tear to a glass-eye’. They have been featured on 67 Music's ‘The Celtic Music Journal’, been interviewed in Irish Music Magazine and appeared on several episodes of The Irish and Celtic Music Podcast. With their rendition of classic Celtic and east coast covers, traditional fiddle tunes, and a variety of original tunes, they often invite the audience to participate in a fun, energetic stage show that can be enjoyed by all.
Imagine the smell of the sea, cold pints of beer, old shipwrecks, stories of love and loss, and boisterous friends sharing a laugh and a song. Now mix it with an instrumentation that takes you on a journey east, and a feeling of being welcomed into your neighbour’s home for a kitchen party, THAT is the essence of Old Man Flanagan’s Ghost.

One of the shows that has been on fire at the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) these past few months has been The Community! This band has absolutely killed it with shows both in November and December, so we are so happy to bring them back again on Thursday, February 16th! The Community is a band that is foremost about bringing people together to perform and enjoy live music. Its origins began with a request to put together a band to play at a school event. From this event on, The Community has seen many variations of students, teachers, parents, and alumni come together to perform live. From the beginning, the band has also branched out to include new members from other communities, but still continues to share that core philosophy which is the love of playing live music together!
The line up consists of: TRAINWRECK founding member Pete Gray on Keyboards, Jeff Hill and Ali Squires on Vocals, Craig Parkinson on Drums, Ted Clark on Bass , Nick Morris on guitar and Pete Smith on Sax. Other special guests and Community alumni will often sit in creating a new dynamic every time they take the stage.
The Community are a creative cover band. They hope to play all your favourites, but maybe in a slightly different way than you’ve heard before. Come out listen, sing along and dance to the music of The Community.

The show starts at 7:30pm, advance tickets are $10 and can be purchased online here: BUY TICKETS! Housecat is an indie-pop trio based out of Waterloo. Formed in the summer of 2022, the band just released their debut single on Halloween. Critics are calling it the best song of all time, since ever before- ever. Their music can be described as catchy, devastatingly sad, and a little bit morbid. #meow Dirty Rick - DIRTY RICK is a four-piece rock ’n’ roll machine from Hamilton, Ontario dedicated to putting on the wildest, sweatiest, dirtiest rock shows in the country. Their unique combination of fat basslines, banging drum beats, and crushing guitar riffs combine blues, hard rock, and garage elements into a finished product that music industry elites have described as “pretty cool” and containing “a lot of good stuff in there”. If you’re lucky enough to stumble into one of their concerts, quarterbacked by their ultra high-energy frontman David Koffman, you’ll be left staggering out afterwards with your dancing feet sore and your face thoroughly melted. Check out their latest single “Doomsday”, their smash-hit “Oh No (Yeah)”, or fan-favourite “Toxic Love” wherever you get your music.
Genie - 4 Piece indie rock band from Toronto, Ontario. The band features frontman and guitarist Christian Biagini and drummer Samantha Biagini. The brother sister duo has been playing together their whole lives and it's clear based on their chemistry once they hit the stage. Their goal on the stage is to make the audience dance. Catchy tunes with infectious melodies highlight the show, Samantha smashes the drums, while Christian keeps the crowd engaged the whole time. Mark Zarich and Philip Zigomanis hold everything down while the other two go off and have all the fun. Their debut single "Baby Blue" set to release in February of 2023.
