The Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) wants to show our immense appreciation for the two people who are responsible for our Indie Tuesdays dating back to 2015! If it wasn’t for these two people, hundreds of Indie Acts would have never performed on our stage.
For those of you who have had the pleasure of meeting Mary-Elizabeth Gilbert, you would know that she is the most sweet, warm-hearted, supportive and beautiful person in the world. She was instrumental in starting our Indie Tuesdays Series back in 2015 with her involvement with IndieCan Radio and when we were going to end this evening in 2016, she took complete responsibility for this show and became the booker of the night. She has booked 3 bands every Tuesday night for years at the Linsmore and is responsible for bringing in hundreds of original local artists/bands to our stage. She has been one of the biggest supporters of GTA original music and has been promoting and booking bands in Toronto for many years. She has a true passion and love for the GTA music scene and has gone above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to supporting our scene!
Drew Chale has been part of our Indie Tuesday night since it’s inception in the summer of 2015. If you have performed on our stage on a Tuesday night or if you have been in the audience to see our Indie night, you would know who he is, as he’s our talented host and sound technician for this evening. Drew is the glue that holds this night together as on-site logistics with 3 different bands on a night is not an easy thing to arrange and Drew is the man who puts it all together. Drew is truly a jack of all trades and is also an extremely talented musician, actor, singer, dancer, composer, producer and an all-around great guy.
We want to thank both Mary and Drew for all they have done for the Linsmore Tavern over the years and for their passion, support, and work that they have put into helping the Toronto Indie Music Scene. We do look forward to bringing back our Indie Tuesday night when things can open up again, with the help and support from IndieCan Radio, Steve’s Music, Mega-Music Toronto and See Rock Live. This is a great platform to see some of the best up and coming talent in the GTA. We also would like to thank Shannon Groves and Kimberly Spice who are also passionate Toronto Indie Music supporters and were influential in helping this night.
