Over the last week many customers and bands have reached out to us about when the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) will be re-opening and when we will bring back live music to our stage. First of all we would like to thank everyone for the kind messages and for your urgency to return to the Linsmore Tavern. It’s very encouraging to us and we really appreciate the support after this long period of being closed.
We will be slowly re-opening the Linsmore’s inside and patio areas over the next couple of weeks. We will comply with the Provincial Government’s stage 3 guidelines and keep our indoor capacity at 25%. Being that we are a small venue with a lower capacity, the maximum number of people we can host indoors with the phase 3 guidelines is 24 people. On top of that we are required to abide by the social distance limitations of 6 feet between groups.
Unfortunately because of this very low capacity, we have decided that we will not be hosting live shows during stage 3 of the Provincial Government’s guidelines. We really want to pay our bands a good wage for their work, but by having a very low capacity, we will not be able to give musicians the proper payment they deserve for their work.
We are hopeful that the Provincial Government will raise the capacity limit for indoor venues very soon, and we can return to hosting live music again soon, (depending on changing the rules for capacity). At this time, we are holding off on booking shows until we get more information on the next stage and what the capacity rules will be.
So for all of the musicians and bands out there who would like to play the Linsmore Tavern, keep checking our social media pages or website at www.linsmoretavern.com on when we will start booking shows again.
Thank you again for all of your support, we really look forward to seeing all of our great customers again and we believe we will be back running live shows in the very near future and we can’t wait for that!
